Geocache Description:

This is not a park the car, then do 400 yards sort of cache. It is about a three mile round trip, around rural Durley, all on footpaths, apart from twice on lanes for a hundred yards or so. (This could take two hours, you have been warned !!!)

En route, when you do (twice) come to a lane, turn right and look for the next footpath sign, it is easily visible within a hundred yards.

Whatever your GPS tells you, follow the footpath signs. The only place that you need to leave a footpath briefly is within 150 feet of a cache. (The shortest route, at times suggested by your GPS may lead you through rivers or barbed wire. There are intentional dog legs in the route :) ).

Firstly, park at the suggested parking, N 50°56.154 W 001°15.822 (just a flat bit of a field opposite the footpath). There is space for one maybe two cars considerately parked there. If you can’t park here, there are other places, south within a few hundred yards at N50°56.106 W001°15.745.

Now proceed to: the co-ordinates given above, (N 50°56.079 W 001°15.959) and you will find the text “BORON XXXX”. Now subtract 1135 from XXXX to give you ABC. Then subtract 1034 from XXXX to give you DEF. This is the location of the first (micro) cache. You should now have N 50° 55, ABC W001°15, DEF.

Now go to those co-ordinates and find the first (micro) cache, which will contain co-ordinates for the next, and so on. The micro caches have a screw top and a keyring on, and are green and tiny, just 2.5 inches x .75 inch. When (or if :) !!!) you do find a micro cache, just copy the co-ordinates from the label inside, do not remove that label. Then please replace the micro cache where it was, and re-cover it.

The cache locations are chosen to hopefully be findable even when trees are in leaf. Except for the very last one, which may be more tricky in summer.

The first three (of four) caches are green micro cache containers, and only contain the co-ordinates of the next location. The forth is a standard cache.

YOU WILL NEED A PEN AND PAPER to write co-ordinates and work out the first clue etc.

Why Planes Trains and Automobiles? Well, you will pass a hanger where restored planes are kept, you may see an antique plane on the runway, or flying. At this time there are three antique De-Havilland aircraft in the hangar. Two Gypsy-moths, and one Tiger-Moth. You will walk alongside, and cross part of an old disused railway line. As to automobiles, you shouldn’t see many of those.
