This Cache has been recycled from CalTrain – Tamien which has gone away because folks had problems with the Pampas Grass bush it was hidden in.
Although the start of this Cache is a bit far from the station I couldn’t resist showing everybody the fountains. You will probability need them to be running to be able to answer the questions. Take your time at the start. The fountain has varying patterns and even sprays “steam”.
Along the walk you will find the Left Bank and Pomodoro restaurants and both Pete’s and Starbucks coffee. There is a Whole Foods on the corner as you enter the area and free parking near the starting location. The fountains are in operation between 8:00 and 22:00. Unless they get the lights fixed the fountain looks better before sunset.
Start at the listed coordinates and walk to N 37 32.669 W 122 17.553. On the way count the following:
a = The number of Frogs
b = The number of Turtles
c = The number of flat stepping stones needed to cross the water
d = The number of stones that get wet at the down stream fountain
e = The number of stone seats on one side between the bridges (it’s the same for each side)
f = The number of waterfalls
g = The number of rectangular stone benches near “d”
h = The number of vertical sprays at the upstream end
i = “d” divided by “e”
The actual cache is at: N ch cb.aff W ibb ih.gai. If you’ll take my advice WALK. It’s only about 0.5 miles from the downstream fountain and you’ll be under video surveillance almost the whole way. All of it is flat and there is little parking near the Cache. If Bay Meadows is open there isn’t ANY parking.
Turn left on Saratoga Dr., DON’T go through Franklin Tempelton there is construction in the way.
