PLEASE NOTE: The cache site is used during the summer as a YMCA camp. On summer weekdays, please visit the site before 8:00 am or after 5:30 pm so as not to disturb the camp participants.Also, if you are walking your dog here, please pick up after your dog...bring a poop bag!This cache is located near an old dairy barn with an interesting history. In the 1960's this barn was converted to a restaurant called "Gulf Hill Parlor". I spent a couple of summers working there scooping ice-cream. They made their own ice-cream on-site before it became "trendy".Later the restaurant fell on hard times and closed. In the late 1980s and 1990s it became the Dartmouth Childeren's Museum. The museum closed in 1999. Now it is part of the area YMCA.The facilities have a number of hiking trails which are part of the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust. Its a great place to take a hike or to walk your dog. Bring good boots as some of the trail is made up of logs and rocks. You won't really need hiking boots for this cache though. Parking can be had at N 41.34.855, W 070.58.156The cache contains some dog treats for your dog if you are caching with your dog, a dog ID tag, a pager w/instructions, a 5 Deutsche Mark coin, and other assorted goodies.Enjoy!
