This Midnight multicache is designed to be completed in the
dark!
Located in the Tottenham Tract, just South of Tottenham.
Final Cache elevation: 291m
The Tottenham Tract is located along Tottenham Road where it meets
Highway 9. Three parking areas are available, (Two off Tottenham
Rd, One off Hwy 9) I suggest parking at the middle gate at: N43°
59.398' W79° 47.814' In total you are looking at a hike of
approximately 3km
I use a number of light reflective markers in this Midnight
multicache, some are real, others are decoys, rely on your GPS and
follow the detailed instructions (found in Stage 1). Though it may
be possible to complete this cache during the day, it is much
easier to spot the reflective markers in the dark using your
flashlight.
I was wanting to create a fun cache with a night time theme, but it
looks like I got a little carried away! As you can guess from the
name "Midnight Hat-Trick Multicache" this cache is designed to be
completed in the dark. (Bring your flashlights!) Where does the
Hat-Trick fit in? Well, when you score three consecutive goals,
that's a Hat-Trick, this cache has 3 stages to be found, so I guess
that could qualify it as Hat Trick... But to seal the deal I
actually filled the final cache container with HATS! (Not to
mention that it was a great way to celebrate my personal Hat-Trick
of 300 finds!) There is also a special "First Finder Prize" to help
the winning team find their way back home.
Stage One is located at N 43° 59.609' W 079°
47.586' and contains 2 vital tools to complete the
mission: Glow Light Sticks and the co-ordinates and info for Stage
2. Use the Glow Light Sticks to light your way to the next stage!
(Save that Flashlight and GPS Backlight, you'll need them later.)
Stage Two (co-ordinates and detailed instructions are found Stage
1) You will now be at a crossroads of sorts. From where you stand,
Stage 2 is only 33 Meters away. But which way? This is where the
flashlight comes in very handy. Turn Around... you are looking for
a single reflective marker attached to a tree (Size of a Tooney).
Walk to that tree and follow the instructions you picked up from
Stage 1. Sage 2 also contains vital tools to complete the mission.
AA Batteries and the co-ordinates for the Final Stage. If your GPS
or flashlight is running low, grab a pair and power up!
Final Stage (co-ordinates are found in Stage 2) No detailed
instructions needed here. After the last 2 stages you'll know
exactly where to look! Just don't fall in while reaching for the
"prize"
As stated before, the original theme of this cache was hats (see
included picture) but I don't expect anyone to maintain that theme.
Once all the various hats are taken I will re-stock it with more.
(Same with the Glow Light Sticks and Batteries)
Hope you enjoyed my first attempt at a themed multicache and were
able to look at night caching under a new light (pardon the pun ;-)
