Enter the camp from Boy Scout road and be sure to park in the parking lot. Find the sign in board at the entrance to the main service road. You MUST sign in to be in camp. If you read or obtain a Visitor's Guide, which has a camp trail map, your day will be enlightened.
Permission to geocache in this camp has been granted by the Camp Tuscazoar Foundation - Board of Directors. Please feel free to tour the camp at your leisure. Sign out when you leave. Camp Tuscazoar is open to the public, so, feel free to visit again.

Pioneer Point is an authentic Native American Indian lookout that offers a panoramic view of the northern Tuscarawas River valley, where the river flows south from Zoar past the camp. Here, since 1925, first-time campers have placed stones upon a stone cairn. Former Camp Director I.W. Delp started the pile as a memorial to Revolutionary War soldiers who built and defended nearby Ft. Laurens in 1778-1779. Through the years, the stone cairn has also come to symbolize the spirit of Tuscazoar. In 1930 a group of boys led by Ralph Reichenbach spelled "Camp Tuscazoar" in white stones on the face. The letters can still be seen more than a mile away.
If you are a first time visitor, you are encouraged to bring with you a small stone (about the size of your GPS unit) and add it to the cairn. While there, take a moment to enjoy the scenery and think about what the first Americans, the Native American Indian, saw from this location and how it has changed.
This location can be found by either following the signs next to the museum, or by walking into central camp and following the signs similar to the route toward the first camp cache location, #1 Tuscazoar - Heading. The coordinates are to the pivotal center of Pioneer Point. The cache is located by finding a rope & cleat then go west as far as 8-10 bow lengths.
The log book in this cache is very unique. Please follow instructions and keep a copy of your log if you like.
