BEWARE
OF NETTLES! IF YOU FIND A FILM CAN, PLEASE LOOK FOR A
WATERPROOF MATCH CONTAINER NEARBY. THAT IS THE REPLACEMENT
CACHE.
Park in the small gravel area near the
corner of Oregon and S. Main St. Turn left onto the bike trail then
turn right onto the dirt trail by the bench located at 42:30.20N by
092:26.89W.
NOTE: You may find the original cache
container as well as the new one. I believe the old one was a film
can. The new one is a little container with a snap on lid. If you
find both, please put the film can with the other
container.
On the way through this area I dropped my
cell phone accidentally! Using my GPS receiver I backtracked and
after having my son call it numerous times we finally heard it go
off.
This cache is the third (and hardest) in
a triad of microcaches. Each of the triads gets harder to find.
Here’s a picture of the approximate location of the three on an
aerial photo.
You will have to cross Dry Run Creek to
get to this one. Be prepared to get your feet wet. Watch for barb
wire in the weeds and protect your eyes as you make your way
through the small trees. I discovered a den hidden by the tall
grass, twice!
Good luck. Don’t get your eyes
poked!
