Geocache Description:

Off of a paved trail in Columba, MD, along a flowing stream.

A couple of years ago, some beavers built a dam under Oakland Mills Road. They managed to put together a pretty nice beaver habitat before the Columbia Association came along and broke up the dam and relocated Mr. & Mrs. Beaver. So I decided that my first cache should be in memory of those two.

The cache is a clear Rubbermaid container with a blue rim, easy to get to, since it is just off the paved path. Original contents include a miniture Tonka dump truck, a toy airplane, some military patches started by TrevRnR that are trying to get to Northern VA, and assorted pins, wooden nickles, and other detritus that I've collected over the past 50 years.

Parking can be found at Christ Episcopal Church (founded in 1711). N39 11.067 W076 49.643

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log. Please also keep in mind that the owner needs to know if the cache is missing. Without DNF logs, the cache owner will not know they need to check on the cache.
