Geocache Description:

In 1856 Gail Borden was granted a patent for the "process of evaporating milk in a vacuum." In the following year he began the manufacture of condensed milk in the Burrville section of this town.

Bagua & I have been wanting to place a cache here for awhile but given the historic nature of the site we chose to make this a virtual, to lessen the impact on the site. This is the location of Gail Borden's processing of evaporating milk in a vacuum. Gail was granted a patent for the process in 1856. In the following year he began the manufacture of condensed milk. The water fall you can see was the source of the power for his endevours. The factory foundation ruins run along side the river down toward and onto private property, however access to them is not recommended especially for little geocachers. Terrain & Parking is the criteria which makes this cache a 2 star. (use caution when approaching the cache the road is very steep and stay close to guardrail) There is a nice little park up the hill which has a picnic and swimming area. To get credit email me a description of what makes the Rock just up hill from the brown sign odd. (please do not post, even encrypted) Thanks Cheers to All Odiferous Rex
