February 25, 2005 -- Note: We have gone out and placed Film
Canisters in each of the waypoint locations EXCEPT the first spot
(too much snow to dig through). If you find a waypoint listed on a
piece of terra cotta pot -- disregard it. Take it away with you.
Each of the clues are still in the same spots, with slight
variance... We left the layout the way it has always been. Good
luck getting from the first to the second. You can do it if you're
clever, fast or don't mind walking around what the beavers have
wrought.
Utilize the Map from the DEM for Cleaveland Farms State Forest in
Boxford/Rowley. This multi-cache takes you along the lovely Esker
Ridge portion of the trail network. The trail is often very rocky
(hence the name) and rocks also come into play in some of the
locations where the coordinates are hidden.
Park at the above referenced coordinates.
Initial cache contents are:
- Geocaching Bumper Oval stickers
- Lisa Simpson travel Bug (oh how she longs to visit the
Springfields!)
- Gorilla pen (haven't you always wanted a monkey!?)
- festive party poppers
- decks of cards for the kids
- spider rings in time for Halloween
- many cute fuzzy fake mice
- sidewalk chalk
- gimp rope
- many more things that I just cannot recall.
Optimal terrain for mountain biking. Dogs love to swim in the
pond. Resist the urge to bushwhack between coordinates. Stay
with the trail as you move from point to point... There is a lot of
wetland out there, and wandering off the trail could result in
sinkage. Some bushwhacking required for the approach to the final
hiding spot. As always, enjoy!
