Geocache Description:

Journey to the remains of an old dam and enjoy the bonus of cascading waterfalls.

The dam is located in Rothesay. There are different ways to get to it; this is one of them:

Make your way to Hwy 100 East (Rothesay Rd) and drive towards Rothesay. Go 1.3 kms past The Riverside Country Club and then turn right on Allison Dr (No exit). Go to the end of the drive, turn around at the dead end and park on the side of the road, past the "Do Not Park" signs. DON'T PARK AT THE DEAD END. THE OWNER OF THE ADJACENT HOUSE WILL CALL THE POLICE AND HAVE YOU TICKETED. Once parked head to the trail. Go straight along the trail for approx 240 m until another trail intersects, then go right on the other trail. A short distance down the trail you will encounter a puddle. Use the planks to get around the water (you took the wrong right if you don’t come across water). Continue until you reach the power line. Turn left and stick to the trail along the power line. Keep following the power line until you have walked past 2 towers. You’ll be going downhill as you pass the 2nd tower. Take the next dirt trail on your right that curves into the woods. As you hike this woods trail you’ll pass 2 footpaths on the left that take you to the stream below the falls. Approx 150 m from the power line is a gravel path on the left. It goes down hill to the remains of the dam (see pics). Halfway down this trail, on the left, is another footpath that takes you to the cascading falls (hint!). Cache type is a large plastic container wrapped with camo duck tape. GPSr WAAS accuracy was 3.2m when cache was concealed. Enjoy the scenery!

These trails are very popular with hikers, dog-walkers and mountain-bikers so BE CAREFUL (look out for speedy bikers)!! You should be partially concealed from the trail (and people) if you are near the cache.
