Mind My Major Mostly Minor Mica Mining Madness
This 2 stage multi cache is located in the northern Bethel part of Huntington State Park in an abandoned open pit mica mine. Park [ in the winter ] at 41° 20.742 / 73° 21.734 off Dodgingtown Rd. Distance to final cache is 1.3 km one way, or..in summertime park: 41 20.851 / 73 21.519 following the blue trail in a northerly direction. No bushwacking required. Trail is well defined most of the way, suitable for mountain bikes and x-country ski. Foot of snow not a problem. 1st stage : coordinates listed above are for 1st micro cache. It is not a container, no logging possible or required, however you need to find coordinates posted for finding 2nd final cache. A good sign is the ability to nail sighting a posting...its not on post 282 !! 2nd stage : This cache is a standard med sized lock and lock container held in place by a large rock. Think Mostly Minor Micro Mica Mine While on site, explore this interesting area, find natural stone bridge and check out open pits with mica scattered about , 200 or more feet south of bridge.
