Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Reporters Riddle. Gather the clues and find the cache!

This is the final in the Reporters Riddle series. If you have solved the riddle and are on your way to claim the cache, CONGRATULATIONS!!.

If you want to accept the challenge of finding this cache, read it and then head to:-
Reporters Riddle #1 (GCH26X).

This series consists of 4 caches, Reporters Riddle #1 - #3 and this, the Final cache. Each cache contains a number of clues, and the coordinates to the next cache, i.e. Reporters Riddle #1 contains Clue 1 and Clue 2, and the coordinates to Reporters Riddle #2 and so on. The clues are initially quite cryptic, but become more direct.

Other Caches: Reporters Riddle #2(GCH26Z)
Reporters Riddle #3(GCH272)

The location of this cache can be deciphered from the first clue, but for most it will probably take the first 4 or 5 clues to formulate the solution. The clues are designed to point you to a particular reference. This reference contains the coordinates to a hidden treasure. This was the start point of my journey. You need to find my start point in order to resolve the location of this cache.

From the start point, I’ve traveled 46º 45.397 South and 98º 45.693 East to hide this cache.

When doing your calculations, make sure that you are working in DDD MM.MMM or DDD.DDDDD format and don't round off your calculations. The start point is in DDD MM SS format, so you’ll need to convert the seconds by dividing them by 60 to get decimal minutes and so on. You could also use Chris n Maria's nifty Waypoint Workbench to perform some of the conversions to various formats.

You can check your coordinates here, before setting out on the grand trek.

The cache is hidden on a nature trail. Head in the general direction of the cache coordinates, try and stick to the paths.

As the cache is the result of some intensive detective work, I’ve kept the goodies in the cache fairly ‘rich’. I’d ask fellow cachers to extend the courtesy and keep the exchange items rewarding. The cache is in a 5l container, covered in a plastic bag and a brown hessian bag for camouflage. It is hidden under a rock, the entrance has been covered with a large stone on one side, and smaller stones on the other end. Try removing the larger stone to gain access, otherwise you’ll spend some time trying to pack back the smaller stones. Take the usual precautions one would take in the bush, make sure there are no nasty creatures keeping company before sticking your hands into places. Be careful when returning to the footpath, this is ankle twisting country.

Please do not place the coordinates of the cache in your log.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy/ed the hunt.
