A nice wee walk in the West of Edinburgh, on Corstorphine Hill
I'd suggest parking up at the top of Kaimes Road (NT204 735). It's a fairly straightforward cache to find, but you might find the tree cover hampers your GPS. The cache is hidden in an open area though, so you should get to it.
It should be a fairly short walk - around a 30 minute round-trip. On your way, you'll see Corstorphine Hill Tower, a memorial to Sir Walter Scott.
Sadly, the tower itself is only occasionally opened to the public, usually only during summer months. The views from the top, I'm told, are spectacular.
But if you can't get into the tower, don't worry - you'll have a smashing time just wandering around the woods - there are dozens of paths that lead you all over the hill.
As for the cache - it's on one of the highest points, on an interesting expanse of glaciated stone.
In the cache, you'll find a camera... Take a snap of yourself, and stick it back in the cache - when it's full, I'll get them developed.
Also in the cache, you'll find:
Glass photograph frame
A novelty laser pointer
Scissors
Some kids bracelets
Some Ladybirds
And some other assorted goodies.
Enjoy!
