Geocache Description:

Cache with one redirect in the Kirkwood Forest

This is a two-stage cache. Near the posted waypoint, a small copper tag embossed with the actual cache coordinates is nailed to the north side of a tree, about six feet off the ground.

Enter these coordinates into the GPS, then proceed to the cache location. At the time the cache was placed, it was possible to drive an ordinary car (Honda Civic) to within 150m of the cache.

The cache itself is at the base of a small pine tree, very near another pine tree of similar size that has died. The cache is hidden behind some rocks so it can't be found accidentally. After visiting, please stash this way again, upright and with rocks hiding it.

The initial contents are:

  • Bag of K'nex toys
  • Rolling rubber stamp and pad (for making flowery borders on paper)
  • Fishing lure
  • Toy cell phone which is actually a calculator
  • Beanie baby
  • Sock puppet
  • Wooden letter opener that looks like a loon
  • Peter Schilling cassette
  • Small plastic model car
  • Heinz pickle whistle
  • Small souvenir beer mug from Switzerland
  • Clicker toy shaped like a space shuttle
Take a goodie, leave a goodie. The container has a round screw lid, with about a 10cm opening, so larger items (especially CDs) won't fit inside. Do not leave edible items, candles, or anything else that could melt and/or attract animals with its scent, because that would cause the cache to be destroyed.
