This
geocache is placed in the
Jordan Lake Educational State
Forest. This is a standard ammo can geocache
container somewhat hidden in a fairly orthodox manner. The
area is full of small sweet gum trees and tall pine trees
near the lake. You will enjoy the visit to this family
friendly area. Deer, fox and an eagle were seen on the way
out from hiding this cache. The cache is about a half mile
down the Forest Demonstration trail. Follow the trail to the
left then turn on an old road bed. It is hidden low. Park in
the area beyond the Huey helicopter
The cache
is full of Forest Resources goodies. The park hours are 9 am
to 5 pm weekdays and 11 am to 8 pm on weekends during daylight
savings. November through March weekend hours will be 11 to 5 and
the weekday hours will continue to be 9 am to 5 pm.
The North
Carolina
Div. of Forest Resources
local personnel
are aware of this cache. They supplied most of the goodies. Please
respect the resource and the area. It was indeed a pleasure to have
the support of this important state agency in placing this
cache.
