Geocache Description:

Located in Den Rock Park on the Lawrence/Andover/North Andover border. This is a multicache that is suitable for the whole family.

This 120-acre park is famous for its 30-foot-high granite outcroppings, popular with area rock climbers and for its miles of hiking trails dating back to the 1930s. The well-marked main entrance is located on Route 114, across from the North Andover Mall. Park at N 42.40.942 W 071.08.219 A new entrance to the park was developed in June 2003. In Andover, take Route 133 to Stirling Ave. to the Sterling Woods development. Park at N 42.40.732 W 71.08.507 The preserve is home to a stretch of the Shawsheen River, a beaver swamp, and wildlife including coyotes, deer, otters, fisher cats, and owls. Watch for the Great Blue Herons and their nests in the swamp. The cache has Red Sox goodies, including bumper stickers, magnets, a souvenir program, etc. It's not necessary to maintain the Red Sox theme, but it would be nice, in hopes of helping the Sox go all the way.
