We first visited this area on a High School Service Project involving a Coastal Cleanup on Earth Day, 2003. Most cleanup crews headed east. We took "The Road Less Travelled" to the west. Please bring your best "Cache In, Trash Out" attitude and help us out here. Gloves are recommended for the trashing out.
This cache is called "Plastic Not Paper" because of the likely possibility that some wetness may be involved. We were able to place the cache without getting wet at all. However, proper timing may be an issue.
Water birds are abundant, so cameras and/or binoculars may enhance your visit. You may also plan to spend a larger part of the day, as this is a popular spot for locals.
Step 1 - The coordinates given here are for the most convenient parking area. Near the parking coordinates, west of the gate, is a sign indicating the hours the park is open. Find the sum of the last four digits of the information phone line (not the extension). Subtract this from the last two digits of the parking latitude (43). Subtract 2 more for good measure.
a + b + c + d = ee
43 - ee - 2 = ff
New Latitude = 27 57.6ff
Step 2 - To the east of the gate is another sign indicating items not allowed in the park. Too many people are ignoring this sign! Add the number of letters in the second word to 350. Move the decimal point to the front and add it to the longitude. Burgi Dad says don't forget to carry the one!
350 + #letters = ggg.
ggg. becomes .ggg
New Longitude = 082 41.975 + .ggg = 082 4_._ _ _
Step 3 - Seek and Ye Shall Find!
Cache description - This is a small, clear plastic container with limited space. All of the contents are plastic except the log, hence, the name. First finder gift included. The hint is a spoiler, so don't decrypt unless you absolutely must!
