Geocache Description:

Cache is in the Essex Woods Recreation Area, off Essex Street in Bangor.

A short but interesting walk to a little visited part of Essex Woods. The hill, now used for winter sliding, was once a ski slope, complete with lift. But the neatest part (I think) is the Veazie Railroad at the bottom of the hill. The Veazie Railroad was built in the late 1830s and was the second railroad built in the United States! It hauled lumber on wooden rails from Orono to the port of Bangor.

The cache itself is a white screwtop bottle and contained:
- a baseball
- crayons
- rubber frog
- whistle
- a loonie
- log book

Remember, cache in, trash out! Heheheheheh... :)
