Geocache Description:

I'm brand new to geocaching and quite frankly having a great time, so I thought I might put a little something together for everyone. There are two significant features to this cache:

1. THE THEME - I figured that we needed a quintessentially Californian cache, so here it is! Gold! Is there a Californian who hasn't figured that one day they just might discover gold right in their own backyard? The original contents of this cache are:

A REAL (No Kidding!) gold coin
A REAL (No Kidding!) California gold nugget
A REAL specimen of California gold in white quartz matrix
A nice specimen of Pryite (Fool's Gold)
A 1996 Topps Stars Golden Season Michael Jordan (#74)
A 1996 Topps Stars Refractor Golden Season Elvin Hayes (#71)
A 1993 ToppsGold Michael Jordan (#23)
A 1997/98 Fleer Key Ingredient Gold Karl Malone (#6)
A 1997/98 Fleer Key Ingredient Gold Scottie Pippin (#10)
A 1997/98 Fleer Key Ingredient Gold Joe Smith (#13)
A few gold-and-silver colored foreign coins
A few really, really, really old partially cleaned gold colored Roman coins (probably bronze, but who knows?)
A couple of great bumper stickers (not gold - so sue me!)
Fatboy's $1,000,000 #1 Travel Bug

Please keep the theme in mind for the cache - if you leave something, make it something GOLD! And it would do a great deal to justify my faith in human nature if visitors only took one item of real value.

2. THE LOCATION - This is a suburban cache and it is VERY IMPORTANT for you to know that you can get to the cache without setting foot on anyone's private property. In fact, that's the whole challenge - finding a way to the cache that does not involve climbing fences, slogging through someone's backyard or getting your butt bit by an overly protective family pet. Trust me - there is a way. You may find it immediately, or you may be driving around Lakeside for hours in the maze of dead end streets trying to follow your GPS. Good luck, Happy Caching...and Peace.

By the way - if you find yourself in a Mobile Home Park, you're close but You Can't Get There From Here - you'll have to find another route to the cache.
