Welcome to boreal jungle! The cache is located somewhere in
black alder swamp of Keiniänranta in Pälkäne.
Tervetuloa boreaalisen viidakkoon! Kätkö sijaitsee Keiniänrannan
tervaleppäkorvessa Pälkäneellä.
This is the first cache in Pälkäne.
The Keiniänranta black alder swamp is as far as is known the
largest of it's kind in whole Europe. It's about 2 kilometers long
and 200 - 500 meters wide. This cache will show you a small part of
it. Most of the swamp is Natura area, and some parts are nature
reserves. Late spring is possibly the easiest time to find this
cache, as later in summer the swamp is very overgrown. And at that
time there is probably a lot of mosquitos too ;-) Don't forget to
take rubber boots with.
Note: Beware of stinging nettles, which grow rather tall here.

Tämä on Pälkäneen ensimmäinen kätkö.
Keiniänrannan tervaleppäkorpi on tiettävästi suurin koko
Euroopassa. Se on noin 2 km pitkä ja 200-500 m leveä. Tämä kätkö
esittelee siitä pienen osan. Suuri osa alueesta on Natura-aluetta
ja osa myös luonnonsuojelualuetta. Loppukevät on todennäköisesti
helpoin aika löytää kätkö, sillä myöhemmin kesällä korpi on maan
tasolta varsin umpeenkasvanut. Ja silloin siellä on todennäköisesti
myös paljon hyttysiä ;-) Älä unohda ottaa kumisaappaita
mukaasi.
Huom! Varo nokkosia jotka kasvavat korkeiksi täällä!
