This is an old Drive In Theater located on old Route 66. If you're coming from the west you can get on old 66 at these coordinates N35 59.293 W096 11.316 and be able to drive 2.8 miles on the old highway to this cache. If you are coming from the east just continue west after visiting the cache and you will come back out to new SH 66.
This is stop number 3 or 10 on my 90 mile Oklahoma Route 66 Geocaching Motor Tour. On this stop you will be visiting the old Teepee Drive In Theater and as an added bonus about eight hundred feet east of here on the same old Highway is the famous Rock Creek Truss Bridge that is between the Rock Creek Bridge Cache and this one.
The Teepee Theater was built in the 1950's and was reopened in 1998 and 1999, then closed again. Drive Ins are almost extinct. This one will bring back memories if you're old enough or may be one of the last times to see one if you're not.
