Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Sapulpa on Route 66 now SH 66.
You can drive right up to it.

This is the first stop or last stop (depending on which way you come) of a ninety mile 12 cache motor tour of Ok. Route 66 from Sapulpa to Arcadia Ok. I came back from Oklahoma City this way a couple of weeks ago and I liked it so much I had to share it. I usually rush to OKC and back on I-44 (Turner Turnpike), it parallels Route 66. Route 66 is a little slower but a whole lot more laid back and there's all kinds of great stuff to see. You can do this tour in one day if you start it real early, but if you're like me you'll come back to take time to see and enjoy all of the sites along Route 66.
If you're coming from Tulsa or the east you can get on Route 66 from the Creek Turnpike at these coordinates N36 01.781 W096 05.313 If you're finishing the Tour and you're wanting to get on I-44 westbound you can get on at these coordinates N36 01.716 W096 05.799 Since 66 parallels I-44 you can get on and off all along the Tour.
Getting back to this Virtual, I haven't seen a Trolley since I've been to San Francisco. The name of this one is the Maggie M. It was built in 1919. The Sapulpa Trolley Company went out of business in 1933. It was donated to Sapulpa Trolley and Rail in 1997. There is also a Caboose (another rarity nowadays)there and a museum that you can tour.

To log this cache you must post a picture of yourself and/or your GPS at the Maggie M.
