Located in a scenic park on Tampa Bay.
We placed our first cache here in Philippe Park because of the many significant beginnings associated with it. Not all of these will be important to you but they are pretty special to us!
Around 900 A.D., Tocobaga Indians established the first permanent settlement in upper Pinellas County.
In the late 1830’s, Odet Philippe established a plantation and introduced citrus growing to Florida. He also introduced cigar making to Tampa.
In 1948, Philippe Park became the first park in Pinellas County.
In November 1991, CooperMini & HD Rider were married here and in May 2003, placed our first cache here.
