Geocache Description:

Where folks from Sussex come to mountain bike and hike on a sunny weekend afternoon. Beautiful views of valley with Poley Mountain in the background.

I adopted this cache because it is without a doubt one of my all time favourites. The views are incredible and lots of wildlife to see along the way as well. It was originally called ‘Bozo's Revenge - The Bluff’ but I renamed it in honour of its original owner, Doctor Livingstone, a geocacher that likely few people will remember all these years later. The good Doc defined geocaching back in the early years of the sport by bringing us to wondrous places, something else that most people have forgotten about geocaching (back when no one had heard of, or would think of hiding a micro!) This is the original cache here on the bluff because, again, back in those days cachers didn’t need a film canister thrown out every 500’ in order to make a hike! To paraphrase Mark Twain; ‘a nice walk spoiled by too many little round canisters’!!

Go to Sussex Corner using Main St. and take the Post Rd. You will pass the outdoor rink and cross a bridge. When you see a Power grid on the left at 1274 Post Rd. you will take a right onto Sullivan Dr. which turns into Pugsley St. which turns into Rodridge Dr. Follow this dirt road to the end where you will find the big baby blue water tower. You will pass a sign that says 'no trespassing beyond this point', this just means don't mess with the tower. The trail head is at N45 42.441 W65 27.673

Park in the parking area beside the tower and walk around the tower until you come to a trail that follows the ridge. Take this trail 1.2 mi. It's a nice hike for a family but there are spots that come dangerously close to the ridge edge so beware. Follow the path along the ridge until you are about 35 metres from the cache and then head into the woods. Enjoy the view.
