This cache is one of sixteen caches in the Light Rail Cache Series that you'll need to find in order to find the seventeenth cache.
Tamien Station
Historical Note: In the original plans this station was called Alma and was renamed to Tamien to honor the native Americans living in the area. The original paperwork on the name of this station (announcing the rename from Alma) described the pronunciation as Tommy-Ann
This station is also the home of The Tamien Child Care Center, which provides a hub of childcare activities for parents and providers while facilitating the convenient use of public transportation by parents. It is one important component of a livable community plan that includes the clustering of housing, an elementary school, and a child care center around a major public transportation hub.
Tamien Walkway
Take a ride on the light rail. These caches have been designed to get you out of your auto and spend some time on public transportation, but you do not need to ride on the light rail to find them. Each of the sixteen caches has been placed near stations along the Santa Clara Valley Light Rail line. Each cache can be logged on its own, but you'll need to find the first sixteen caches in order to obtain the coordinates for the seventeenth cache. The log for each cache, except one, includes a numerical value or code word that is used to figure out the final coordinates for the seventeenth cache.
Light Rail Cache Series
Even if you believe that you'll never try to find the seventeenth cache you should write down the code word and the station it was found at just in case you change your mind. Please make a note in your remarks if you traveled to these caches by light rail shuttle. Thanks for your visit.
