Three Cliffs Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Lactodorum: Hi, this looks suspiciously like the cache has gone. Could the owner please undertake a maintenance visit to check if it's there or not. In the meantime I'm archiving it but I'll happily unarchive it if/when it's found.

Thanks, Lactodorum

Geocache Description:

Easy walk from Pennard but harder walk up sand dunes from the beach.

The Gower Peninsular is an isthmus (hey, that's a good word!) of limestone projecting into the Bristol Channel to the west of Swansea. Being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Gower has some spectacular seascapes and cliff scenery from Mumbles in the east, to Worm's Head in the West. It is largely owned by the National Trust.

The cache is near Three Cliffs Bay, and may be approached from several directions, for example from Oxwich by a walk along a perfect sandy beach at low tide. The easiest route is probably from the village of Pennard, taking one of the footpaths around the golf course. The cache is in sight of the ruins of Pennard Castle from where a stunning view of Three Cliffs Bay may be had.

Original contents of cache: small plaster of paris teddy bear; Welsh Gonk; Wales badge; tea light candle; scented soap; American quarter dollar; notebook and pencil (please leave these).
