4 x 4 required. Probably not a cache to take the geokiddies as there is plenty of spinefex.
We had been seeking out this confluence and decided to leave a cache there. The round trip (from Karratha) was approximately 100kilometres, but it is possible to go in and out the same way which would make it slightly shorter.
We drove to within 800metres of where we planted the cache but is possible to get closer dependant on how you feel about your 4x4! The last bit is through a riverbed and is quite rocky and scratchy.
Since the location is isolated take plenty of water, a first aid kit etc and make sure that somebody knows where you are going just to be safe. The temperature can get very hot. Otherwise it is another fantastic spot in the Pilbara and there are some excellent views to be had. If you hunt around in the rock piles there is even some ancient rock art.
