Geocache Description:

Located in the village of Lonsdale in Cumberland RI at the corner of Blackstone and Broad Streets, near the junction of routes 122 and 123, you will find the Memorial Park for the person considered the first European settler in what is now Boston, and later, the first to settle in what is now Rhode Island, as well. Parking available nearby at the Blackstone River Theater.

William Blackstone was born in England on March 5th, 1595; came to the new world in the 1620's and planted on the Shawmut peninsula; by 1635, he settled along the Great River that is now called the Blackstone, where he lived till age 80.

We considered it best to make this a virtual cache with coordinates given for a stone monument with two wayside exhibits closeby. Once you have read the material, email your answers to the following questions and post your find. Please do not give away any answers in your log or photos.

According to the monument, William was a student at what College in Cambridge? (You may want to double check the spelling.)

According to the wayside for 'the Man', what did Blackstone call his house on Study Hill?

According to the wayside for 'the Monument', in 1856, what was promoted as the 'largest association in the world'?
