Geocache Description:

Puck's Glen is a steep wooded gorge at the bottom of Loch Eck. The glen is rugged and dramatic and not suitable for pushchairs, although the path is well maintained.

Park in the Pucks Glen car park. Look at the map and follow the red route. At the top of the hill, go down the steps where the trail will split between the upper and lower glen. Going up the upper glen, the lichen covered sides crowd in on you and you will lose your GPS signal. As you climb up the glen, the signal will return and you will have enough satelites to find the cache. Try changing the batteries on your Etrex if they are low, and get a firm satelite lock in the car park before you set off. The cache is a medium sized tupperware container about 20 minutes walk from the car park. After finding it, if you are ambitious, you can continue up the Glen crossing the forest road and either do a circular walk via Black Gates, or press on up to the top of the hills following the pylons where a magnificent view awaits. Whatever you chose to do, return to the car park via the lower glen where there are jaw-dropping views and an easy virtual cache to find.
