Clark is a nice old gentleman; retired and living a quiet life with his wife Minita, in Alameda. He is a father of two strapping young men and a dainty daughter. Clark's boys are good men, but they often hold opposing views and Clark jokes that ''they agree only a few times a day''. His daughter, his second child, is friendly, outgoing and touches everyone she meets. All his children are married and he has six grandsons and six granddaughters. He loves his family very much and spends most of his time with them.

Late this Saturday morning, Minita asked her husband to run some errands for her. She knew that he would be a little upset that he had to go out when the children were expected anytime. They'd planned a quiet afternoon with the family. However, the family was going to a party that evening, and her best dress was at the cleaners in Berkeley. Also, her sister who lives in San Francisco was having some friends over for dinner and she'd asked Minita to bake her specialty chocolate cake for her. Minita had just finished frosting the cake and she wanted it rushed to her sister's place.

When he heard what was planned for him, Clark did not react as Minita had expected. He didn't seem upset at all, instead he got out his car keys and set out. He left home at noon, was at the cleaners by 12:06:52.1720 and rushing in the same manner, was able to drop off the cake at 12:22:13.7611 and be back home at 12:49:05.4545!!

Boy! Did he break some laws that day! Fortunately he wasn't spotted by traffic cops and the Bay Bridge was unusually hassle free.

He sure did score points with Minita though and was able to get back in time to see his youngest grandchild walking in the front door crying "Grandpa! Grandpa!".

A family crisis averted!
