Rope bridges have no pillars. They usually span over gorges or
clefts in high mountains of the world.
They are made of only ropes or cables with (or without) wooden
planks and are spanned between the cliffs.
This rope-bridge is swinging at 3050m above sea level in the
Italian Dolomites nearby Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Dibona Via Ferrata
trail leads through on the 27m long bridge.
This is a copy of the bridge from the Cliffhanger movie which has
been shot in this mountains.
Your task is to find an exciting
rope-bridge and take a picture of it. You have to walk through on
the bridge, if you can't your log will be not accepted. On one of
the photos your GPSr and the bridge have to be visible, both on the
same photo.
Of course you have to record the coordinates as
well.
Only permanent rope (cable) bridges without any pillars will be
accepted, suitable for pedestrian traffic only. Temporary bridges,
such as that put together for a weekend Boy Scout event, do not
count.
You can place your non-rope (suspension) bridges at their proper
cache sites.
Let’s go for adventure!
