Geocache Description:

This geocache found its place at the boundary of Budapest. In this area several hundred of paint pigment holes can be found.

These man-made holes are among the memories of Hungarian mining. They used to mine white clay here which was used as pigment. The depth of some of the holes and shafts reach 10 metres. Most go unobserved by tourists. Even those who search for them have to hurry because the ministry wants to fill them up. That's why I placed the geocache here.
The shaft I chose is one of the deepest. Pay attention to the children and dogs near the spot! The hole is real deep and it's not the only one around here. Night time geocachers should be extra careful!
The box can be easily (horizontally) reached both from Budakeszi and from Konkoly Thege Miklós street. But be prepared for some bush-walk.
The box (a conventional plastic kitchen box with white lid) is hidden near the hole by a two-forked tree.
Good hunt!
According to the latest news the hole has been filled. So this has become only a memorial. I'm real sorry. Anyway, I'll leave the box here. Bye.
