Geocache Description:

THIS GEOCACHE IS LOCATED IN ONE OF THE MOST HOSTILE ENVIRONMENTS ON EARTH. Driving is over soft sand in temperatures that often reach 50°C with little chance of recovery other than self help. Walking for assistance is not an option. You have been warned.

This geocache is located in one of the most hostile environments on Earth. Noone should attempt it except under the guidance of someone experienced in the area and extremely confident of their abilities. You must be properly prepared including having a contingency if vehicles break down. There is little chance of assistance other then self help and the nearest paved road could be as far as 70 kms away. Driving is over soft sand in temperatures that often reach 50°C. You have been warned.

The following is an extract from the log of Scarinian: I had pursued the Camelodia warriors all day. Jorvic, my steed, was weary and my arm ached from carrying the unsheathed Enchanted Sword of Scalim. This was a desolate place. The scrub bushes I had passed were all dead though some new shoots were now appearing. But that was as I entered the desert, no vegetation grew here. It comprised sand and more sand. The dunes were spectacular and would be a great sight had my mind not being distracted by my quest. And there, out of nowhere I saw a tree, a lone tree with no vegetation for at least two kilometres in any direction. I decided to take advantage of the shade to rest but then recalled the words of the Old Widow Hag of Kingdom “This is not a friendly place and you may be slaughtered in your sleep. Never rest without first concealing the Scared Food Container of Riyadh. Look up and you will see two places in which to hide the treasure. Do not use these as they are obvious to others and anyway they are difficult for those that follow you to reach”. Wise words indeed and so I did precisely as she bade.

Note from the Scarinian archivist: From a letter written by Lord Dardnol to the Marquis of Connaught we know that the two locations referred to by the Old Widow Hag are bird nests in the tree.

Please take care. This remains a spectacular but desolate place.
