Geocache Description:

We were asked to get this one going again, so here you go.

This multi-cache is located in a York Regional Forest and is very winter friendly. It is best to begin at N44 03.509 W79 19.625. This is on the corner of McCowan Rd and Faulkner Ave, just north of St. Johns sideroad. Give yourself over an hour for this one, it will take you along many of the trails in this forest.

This is a multi staged cache which will require you to obtain clues to determine your next coordinates. You may want to bring a calculator or paper and pen as there will be some math involved. Also, due to the numerous clues, please print this and bring with you.

Point #1.

When arriving at the first coordinates you are given above where you can park, first stop at N44 02.529 W79 19.386 on McCowan just south of the parking coordinates. On the East side of the road is a white sign posted by the York Regional Forests.

There are two telephone numbers on the bottom of the sign. Using the one with the (905) area code, take the prefix (first three digits, not the area code), and subtract 318 from it. Plug the resulting number into the following coordinate, N44 03.XXX W79 19.373. (E.G. if the resulting number were 345, the coordinate should read N44 03.345 W79 19.373). This will lead you to point #1 where you will be able to quench your thirst for the next clue.

Point #2.

When you find your thirst quencher, you will notice it has two sets of numbers on it, the first, a five digit number reading, 44458 and a second number below it with only two digits. Add 5 to this two digit number and plug the result in the YY. Then subtract 14 from the orginal two digit number and plug the result into the XX, N44 03.3YY W79 18.5XX and this will lead you to the next clue.

Point #3.

When you are getting close to this point, you will notice a small white sign. On each corner of the sign there is a number etched in.

Top left corner number = W
Top right corner number PLUS 1 = X
Bottom left corner number = Y
Bottom right corner number MINUS 2 = Z

N44 03.XWZW79 18.XYZ

These are the coordinates to point #4.

Point #4.

You are almost there. As you reach this point, you must find a white sign off the path. You will need to use the numbers found on this sign to determine the final coordinates. The numbers are faded, but they are legible.

SS = Volume Harvested to Date - 192
X = Plot #
YY = Date Last Measured - 1900 + 6
