Located in the Esterel Mountains, South of France. Very nice and wild area, red mountains overlooking the blue sea.

Warnings
- Since the cache is located in a rough trail in a mountain area, you will need hiking boots.
- Depending on the period of the year and weather, the path may be partially flooded/disrupted by streams.
- During summer, there is danger of wildfires in all the Esterel. See the daily map of the wildfire risk here.
Minimal information, if you know how to hike
Use the French 1:25.000 map named "TOP 25, 3544 ET Fréjus St-Raphael", you can find it in most bookshops of the area. The map and the cache coordinates are enough to plan a route to find it. Stop reading here :-)
More detailed information
Easy, shorter hike (1.5 hours)
- Driving directions: from Mandelieu, take the N7 towards Fréjus. At waypoint 01/RT3TER make a left turn, following the signs for "Route forestière des 3 termes". At waypoint 02/PKGAER park the car; there is a barrier that blocks the road.
- You can choose to walk following the road or following the trail on the left, marked "Piste des Oeufs de Bouc". In both cases you will reach the mountain col "Col des 3 termes".
- Look around for a bench and a small sign that says "Lac des écureuils". Follow the rough trail downhill :-)
Longer, more difficult hike (2 hours)
- Drive following the coastal road sothbound, pass Theoule-sur-Mer, Miramar and stop at "Le Trayas Superieur".
- Start walking uphill, after a while there is a barrier on the road and the route forestiere begins. Reach the Col Notre-Dame.
- Leave the road and take the track to the Lac de l'Ecureuil.
- At the lake, take the track northboud direction Col des 3 termes :-)
