Geocache Description:

Parking area may not be plowed. There is only room for 2 or 3 cars on the side of road near the sign for area and then you would have to back up into the busy route 10. We were the only truck there and I used 4 wheel drive to make turning around easier and getting back onto road.

In 2023, the geocache community lost one of its veteran cachers, wide glide. The family decided to adopt out all of the caches hidden by the CO. I was chosen to take on this cache, and plan to uphold the memory of our fellow cacher. RIP wide glide!

The Farmington Aqueduct was for the Northampton canal. This canal ran from Northampton to New Haven from 1828 to 1848. It came down thru Westfield and Southwick, MA. It used north, middle and south Congamond ponds in Southwick. In Farmington, it is a short level walk down the old towpath until you get near the river, but still not too steep. A covered sign post has the history of the area and a wooden model of aqueduct (both seem to be gone as of 2023). There is a new metal sign with an oval picture and a square picture that have the same year. Email the year to me to claim it as a find. Do not log the answer even if you encyrpt it, or post pictures of the answers.
