Many of you knew and loved poshrule plus his many caches. Sadly he passed away on 22nd November 2024, after a couple of tough years battling illness.
After the success of the original " Celebrating poshrule / Church Warden " event held earlier in the year at Paul's request which many attended & enjoyed , meeting up with caching friends ( & rivals ! ) in Paul's old hometown of Yaxley we now move onto the summer event !
When - Saturday 05/07/2025 12:00 -15:00
Where - The Black Bull Brampton - 25 Church Lane , Brampton , PE28 4PF . Weather permitting we will be in the spacious garden , in the event of rain the pub could hold 50 or so
Why - As anyone that met Paul/poshrule/Churchwarden will know he loved geocaching as well as many other things , he placed nearly 4000 caches for others to find , but also hosted many events that all who attended enjoyed immensely . Paul was the type of person that gained much happiness from giving & sharing with people he knew & even people that he didn't . He was a such a pleasure to be with & those that knew him all feel honoured to consider him a friend . In his spirit of trying to help others enjoy themselves we are hosting this event to hopefully bring some friends old & new together for a catch up & warm reminisce .
The pub will be open from 10AM & serves breakfast , lunch & dinner booking for inside tables is recommended or you will likely not get a table . Malcolm , the landlord , has assured me the outside bar & the outside food area ( no reservation necessary ) will be staffed from 12 PM . There is plenty of space in the garden , which has a permanent bouncy castle in place which may help keep children amused , for any further info required go to their website - https://www.blackbullbrampton.co.uk/ please make sure you log your intention to " will attend " to give ourselves & the pub some idea of numbers to expect .
We are hoping to place a loop of 30 or so new caches in the area before the event for anyone that fancies a walk on the day ( & wants to try to beat Graham to the FTFs !!! )
I hope to see as many there as we can , see you there Plumbguy & Mol'n'Me
