THIS IS HOW A PASSING ANGEL MIGHT SEE OUR CITY!
Spectacular views of metro L.A. and Pasadena. Your walk will be 2.8 to 4 miles each way.
ROUTES There are a several ways up Verdugo Mountain to the "Angel's View" cache. One of the most popular starting points is La Tuna Canyon at the 210 Freeway (W34 14.054 N118 17.463). It begins with 2/3 mile of paved road before it turns into a well maintained fire road. You'll encounter plenty of mountain bikes and hikers on this route; you also may see deer and bobcats. This is 8 miles roundtrip with a 1550 ft ascent.
Another route is up Whiting Woods Motorway. Park at N34 12.830 W118 15.216, which is the west end of Whiting Woods Rd. This route is 5.6 miles round trip along a fire road with 1730 ft ascent.
Check your map for routes from Glendale and Burbank.The cache is located near the peak, which is 3126 ft elevation (don't be fooled by the red coffee can holding the mountain peak log).
The cache is easy to find, under a small shrub in an ammo box.
