Easy .27 mile trek on well groomed trails in a forgotten forest.
This is a forest preserve that not many people know about. When I placed the "Price is right cache" the recreation director who went with me suggested I put one here too. Otherwise even I would not have known this place existed.
I rarely hike here without seeing deer and other wildlife. I've even seen some pretty big turtles in the river. This evening as I was leaving I was serenaded by an owl which was fairly close to me but I couldn't see her.
There is a grand alle of pine trees and in the spring and summer there is a natural moss garden at one end that rivals any I ever saw while living in Japan.
