Community Celebration Events - 2025
The Canso Causeway, which attachs Cape Breton Island to the mainland of Nova Scotia was officially opened 70 years ago this summer. Its been sung about, sworn at, danced and bagpiped on, and ran across by Terry Fox. The adjacent Cape Porcupine is a world heritage site and the face of which cannot be altered as the rock that makes up the Causeway came from there.
May 2025 is also the 25th anniversary of our beloved hobby, geocaching. From its humble beginnings on "Blue Switch Day" in western USA, to now a world wide activity shared by those of all generations and abilities, it unites us. We all have wonderful stories to share and relationships made that if it wasn't for geocaching we would have never made otherwise.
So, please come by this event and be ready to share a story. I hope to have some give-aways and tea and coffee available. Whether this is your first cache or 82,000th, everyone is welcome. We share and we learn from each other. There will be a number of new caches hidden to coincide with the event.
The event will be inside the church hall (attached to church). Please use side door facing the fire department. Washroom facilities are available.
This Event is part of a limited release of Community Celebration Events to celebrate 25 years of geocaching. Geocachers hosted events between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. Learn more about Community Celebration Events on the Geocaching Blog.
