La pollution des rivières due à l'industrialisation et les maladies
transmises par des eaux plus ou moins propres ont conduit l'état à
promulguer une loi en 1851 qui permit la subvention et la construction de
lavoirs, connus pour être devenus rapidement des petits temples des
verbiages et autres cancans.
Les lavoirs ont été
supplantés par la machine à laver à partir des années 1950.
Les
recettes
des laveuses
Savon: verser 2 cuillerées à
soupe de cristaux de soude dans ½ verre d'eau et faire chauffer. Ajouter
un verre de suif ramolli et battre jusqu'à l'obtention d'un ensemble
crémeux et homogène. Verser dans un moule et couvrir d'un journal.
Démouler au bout de 24 heures et laisser durcir 15 à 20 jours.
Lessive: la cendre de bois était
utilisée et parfois produite sur place, au lavoir. Les cendres de chêne et
de châtaignier n'étaient pas utilisées en raison de leur teneur en tanin
qui tachait le linge.
Blanchissant
: des boules de
"bleu" plongées dans l'eau de rinçage rendaient le linge d'un blanc
étincelant.
Assouplissant
: les racines de
saponaire.
Parfois des racines
d'iris servaient à parfumer
la lessive.

Pourquoi "VERT" ?
Ma
première
cache posée (GC3VHY2) était une boîte verte, avec un stylo vert, un
log book vert et des objets d'échange verts. Ainsi est née l'idée de
placer les caches qui ont suivi sous le signe du "VERT" et de proposer
un challenge consistant à y déposer de préférence des objets "VERTs".
Ce challenge ne peut malheureusement pas concerner les caches de
taille nano ou micro.
La cache est de
taille nano. Prévoir un crayon. Merci de bien la replacer telle que
vous l’aurez trouvée et de rester discret face aux immeubles du
voisinage et à la circulation.

The pollution of rivers due to the industrialization and the diseases

a law in 1851 which allowed the subsidy and the construction of wash
houses, known to have become quickly small temples of the verbosities and
other gossips.
Wash houses
were supplanted by the washing machine from 1950s.
The
recipes
of the washerwomen
Soap: pour 2 soup spoonful of
washing soda in ½ glass of water and make warm. Add a glass of soft tallow
and beat until the obtaining of a creamy and homogeneous set. Pour into a
mold and cover with a newspaper. Turn out at the end of 24 hours and let
harden 15 in 20 days.
Washing
powder: the
wood ash was used and sometimes produced on the spot, in the wash house.
Ashes of oak and sweet chestnut tree were not used because of their
content in tannin which stained the linen.
Whitening: balls of "blue" plunged
into the water of rinsing returned the linen of a glittering white.
Softener: the roots of saponin.
Sometimes roots of
iris served to perfume
the washing.

Why "VERT" ?
My first geocache ( GC3VHY2) was a green box, with a green pen, a green
log book and green items for exchange. So was born the idea to place the
caches which followed under the sign of the "VERT" ("GREEN" in French) and
to propose a challenge consisting in depositing there rather "VERT"
objects. This challenge cannot unfortunately concern the caches in nano or
micro size.
The hiding place is a nano. Please bring your own pen. Thank you for
replacing it as you will found it and remain discreet in front of
buildings of the neighborhood and of the traffic.
