Together, the Tamar, Tavy and Lynher form the Tamar Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers around 195 km2 (75 sq mi)
From this point of the Tamar Valley, you have an excellent view of The Tamar Bridge & surrounding Esturys & while it is an AONB, it is still very prone to litter, washing up on its shores. This can not only spoil the area but can be dangerous for local wildlife.
Organising a local litter pick can help to clear some of this debris that is often washed up along the shore.
Please join me in doing our little bit to help keep this beautiful estury clean & clear of rubbish & debris.
All rubbish at the end will be collected by myself & disposed of correctly
The tide will be low at this time of day & there are a few caches along the river as well. I will provide rubbish bags & can provide gloves. However, should you wish to bring along your own litter sticks, glovesor anything else, please do feel free.
Please note that as this along the shore line, extra care must be taken as it can be slippery under foot & of course this event will be undertaken at your own risk.
The event will last one hour due to tide times. There is a small amount of parking available at the event point, and depending on numbers, i will source alternatives
The Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB) was established in 2003 to provide a national geocaching organisation that encourages best practices in hiding or finding geocaches. The GAGB serves as a UK point of contact for geocachers, landowners, the media and others with an interest in geocaching.
