The Boathouse, Newbridge Road, Bath BA1 3NB (W3W: digs.pure.snow)
Our latest monthly meet, held in what is now our regular haunt, looking out over the river Avon
There is no agenda, there is no quiz, there is no raffle. Meet, chat, drink and be happy! Food is available but not compulsory. Free Parking available (see additional waypoint). Well behaved geohounds are also welcome.
N.B. This pub is now asking for you to register your car number plate on arrival. It seems to be a common request nowadays.
We should be in the spacious Club Room towards the back of the pub, but don't forget to log a will attend and we will let you know exactly where.
The Indianapolis 500, formally known as the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race, and commonly called the Indy 500, is an annual automobile race held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana, United States, an enclave suburb of Indianapolis. The event is traditionally held over Memorial Day weekend, usually the last weekend of May.
The first "500" was held at the Speedway in 1911 on May 30, run to a 600-cubic-inch (9,800 cc) maximum engine size formula. Eighty thousand spectators were in attendance, and an annual tradition had been established.
