The May full moon is known as the Flower Moon. Many wildflowers bloom in May in the Northern Hemisphere where these traditional Full Moon names originated. Native Americans also call it the Budding Moon, Egg Laying Moon, and Planting Moon. Celtic and Old English names include Mothers’ Moon, Bright Moon, Hare Moon, and Grass Moon.
For this month's lunar celebration, we will gather to admire the flowers in Postman's Park- a lovely green oasis close to St Paul's. The park is also home to a traditional cache large enough for TBs.
Just a thirty minute event this month, time for some geo-chat and swapping of TBs whilst the city commuters are rushing home. I look forward to meeting cachers old and new, from near and far.
This is the fifth of 12 planned events, to mark every full moon of 2024.
