Geocache Description:

15 April 2024, 12:30 - 13:30

Monday 15th April is National Rubber Eraser Day - at this location the rubber eraser was discovered!
Join the host on this day at 12.30pm to 1.30pm at Bank Gardens.

In 1770 Edward Nairne was selling cubes of natural rubber, near to GZ of this event, at his shop on 20 Cornhill soon after his discovered its erasing properties. Prior to the rubber erasers pencil markings was often rubbed out by using bread! Edward inadvertently picked up a piece of rubber instead of breadcrumbs and had a eureka moment. He began selling rubber erasers at three schillings an half inch!
Meet at the gardens at the given coordinates armed with your pencil to sign the logbook  - I will take great pleasure rubbing your names out out after the event - only joking!
