The event this year will revert to a one day event held on the Sunday May Day Bank holiday. This annual event has been going since 2006 and after the fantastic events held by Dorian and Sally over the past few years, rather than let the longest running annual event in the UK not happen I decided to host the event and nagging Tony until he agreed.🤣
The event will be held at Dare Valley Country Park Aberdare Sunday 5th May 2024. It will start at 10.30am and end at 4pm. I have arranged a room for us to use and there is a cafe on site. We will not be putting out any new caches for this event but there are caches in the area and anyone closer feel free if you wish😉.
There is touring caravan and camping, all pitches have electric hook up and a hotel on site. The town of Aberdare is less than ten minutes drive from Dare Valley. We advise to book by telephoning Luci Owen 07849 129997 please mention you are with the geocaching group when you book so we can all be kept together.Â
Some have already booked camping or the hotel from Thursday to Monday so please join us if you wish. I am sure some geocachers attending will provide a campfire, music and if anyone wants to organise these, BBQ, caches please feel free.
This event is not planned as the usual rush for new caches but a more laid back and chilled event although l do have an idea swishing around in my head 😉.
