CITO 2024 : Season 1
Attend a CITO event between 1 March - 31 May to earn the souvenir
CLEARING FELLED ASH AT WOLFLEAZE PICNIC SITE ON ROBINSWOOD HILL
Parking: Is in the main Robinswood Hill car park, (see parking waypoint). This is a free car park and has no time limit - as long as you leave before it closes!
Where: Meet up at the Ranger Station (see reference point) for 09:30, or at the main coordinates on Robinswood Hill for 10:00.
What: Today we will be continuing the work done in previous CITO events to clear Wolfleaze picnic site following the felling of trees due to ash dieback. We shall be sorting the wood, burning the brash and stacking up the larger logs for habitat piles.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own work gloves and if you wish to use your own tools (loppers, saw) please bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply too.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
There will be a bonfire so any children will require close supervision, and please wear old clothes due to the possibility of flying embers.
Please bring a drink and snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided 😁
