Ce petit village peu connu de l'arrière pays niçois pocède de nombreuses fontaines au sein du village, deux églises (l'église St Pierre et l'église Notre-Dame du Plan) , et une vue panoramique sur les montagnes et champs alentours à ne pas manquer.
Les villageois sont appelés les pennois. (206 habitants recensés en 2019) Le village situé à 850m d'altitude a la chance d'être dans un environnement permettant le cyclisme et possédant de nombreux sentiers de randonnées dont le sentier des 8 vallées passant à l'intérieur même du village.
