Reactant: a kid with a dream (and some baja blast Mountain Dew)
Product: a college student chasing his dream
It’s been a while since my last puzzle cache. And to be honest it’s because a lot has happened in my life since. Just last year, I was a senior in high school, worried about which colleges would offer me admission. I ended up getting waitlisted and then rejected from my absolute dream school (a certain Boston technology school that shall remain nameless), and it was quite literally the end of a dream. I was really down on myself and thought that all the hard work I had put into my high school studies and extra curriculars had gone to waste. I ended up getting accepted to UCLA and committed with plans to major in chemical engineering. And after my first quarter, I can genuinely say that I am happy with where I am. I have a solid group of friends who I can easily relate to, teachers that are knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter, and the ability to go home pretty much whenever I want (just down the 405!). I also tried out for the quiz bowl team at UCLA and got accepted! We’re going to nationals this spring in New York City. I can confidently say now that I am so glad I didn’t go to my once dream school. UCLA by far exceeded my expectations in just this first quarter.
Anyways, I realized that I have published several puzzles but never included any of my “home turf” subject. So here we go.
