La statue de la Liberté de Colmar est la fidèle reproduction réduite de celle de New York. Elle a été érigée à Colmar dans le cadre de la commémoration du centenaire de la mort d’Auguste Bartholdi, natif de Colmar et créateur de la statue originelle.
Cette statue est aussi un lien supplémentaire avec les Etats-Unis déjà symbolisé, depuis 1986, par la signature d’un pacte de jumelage entre Colmar et la ville universitaire de Princeton, située non loin de New York.

The Statue of Liberty in Colmar is an exact scaled-down replica of the one in New York. It was erected in Colmar to commemorate the centenary of the death of Auguste Bartholdi, a native of Colmar and the creator of the original statue.
This statue also serves as an additional link with the United States, already symbolized since 1986 by the signing of a twinning agreement between Colmar and the university city of Princeton, located not far from New York.
